Assigning and Deleting Inventory Items to an Area

Project Managers can assign a specific inventory item to an area to identify the specific inventory item’s location in an area.

To assign an inventory item to an area:

1.From the Main Menu, click Setup and from the submenu click, Projects. The Projects Setup Director page opens.
2.In the Projects and Project-related Data section, click the Area Management link. The Area Management page opens and displays existing area types.
3.From the Projects drop-down list, select the project for which you want to view areas.
4.Click the Edit button in the row for the area or sub-area to which you want to assign an inventory item. The Area Details page opens.
5.Click the Items tab.
6.In the Inventory Item List section, use the Expand and Collapse icons to display the inventory items defined for the project.
7.Click the Add button in the row for the inventory item you want to assign to the area. The inventory item displays in the Area Items section.
8.To record a serial number for the inventory item, click the Edit button for the inventory item, enter the serial number in the Serial Number data field, and click the Save button.

To delete an inventory item from an area:

1.From the Area Management page, click the Edit button in the row for the area or sub-area from which you want to remove an inventory item. The Area Details page opens.
2.Click the Items tab.
3.In the Area Items section, click the Delete button in the row for the inventory item you want to remove from the area. The inventory item is deleted.
