Build a New Project Wizard

The Project Wizard is a fast, step-by-step alternative to Creating a New Project.  The simplified steps skip advanced options and guide you to provide the most important information.  In the wizard you enter key details, begin setting up your team, areas, and inventory.  After progressing to the next step, the wizard will remember your information until you Cancel or choose to Create the Project.                                                                        

 

1.From the Main Menu, click Setup and from the submenu, click Projects. The Projects Setup Director page opens.

 

2.Click the Build a New Project button. The first step in the wizard is for entering your project Details. Provide the information about your project and click Setup Team to proceed.
 
Note: You will be notified when a field is required if you do not leave a value.
 
Note: After creating a project, you can edit its information by opening the project under the Project Management link in the Projects and Project-related Data section of the Projects Setup Director page. This information can be edited on the Project Details tab after opening the project.

 

3.The Team step of the wizard is where you can search for users in the system and add them to your Team. If you previously chose to have certain users added to new projects by default, you will automatically see those users in your new team.  Choose who you want to be on your team and click Setup Areas to proceed.
 
Note: After creating a project, you can edit the team by opening Area Management link in the Projects and Project-related Data section of the Projects Setup Director page.  This information can be edited on the Project Team tab after opening the project.
 
4.The Areas step of the wizard is where you can quickly build your area tree. Add the areas for your project and click Setup Inventory to proceed.
 
Note: After creating a project, you can edit areas by opening Area Management link in the Projects and Project-related Data section of the Projects Setup Director page.

 

5.The Inventory step of the wizard is where you can quickly build your area tree. Add the items for your project and click Create Project to proceed.
 
Note: After creating a project, you can edit items by opening the Inventory link in the Items section of the Projects Setup Director page.
